We supply technical aids and are responsible for the distribution of technical aids in the county of Västmanland. We are a part of the health care system.
Employees at Hjälpmedelscentrum are occupational and physical therapists, engineers, technicians, stockroom staff and administrators. Hjälpmedelscentrum’s facilities include stockrooms, testing and try-out rooms and a repair shop for reconditioning and adaptation of technical aids.
In order to keep the therapists in the field updated and educated, we offer a wide range of, information and training courses.

What is a technical aid ?
It is a specific and individual product that is helping a person with reduced functional ability to manage his or her everyday life.
Most technical aids are free of charge and paid by the Regional Health Care or the Community.
It´s your functional impairment that decide what technical aid you can get.
You borrow your aids and return them when you don´t need them anymore.
Most repairs of technical aids are free of charge.
